Originally from Plano, Texas, Dr. Gabriela Leche earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas before completing her Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. She graduated magna cum laude, was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
During her training, Dr. Leche earned several distinctions, including a Letter of Excellence in Family Practice and the Ocular Instruments Award for Excellence in Ocular Disease. Her clinical rotations included the Eye Doctor’s Office and Eye Gallery, as well as the Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, where she developed strong experience in ocular disease management and specialty contact lens fitting.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Leche participated in an international mission trip to Chihuahua, Mexico, where she provided essential eye care to underserved indigenous communities.
Dr. Leche holds an expanded therapeutic license, allowing her to treat glaucoma and prescribe oral medications. She enjoys managing complex eye diseases and fitting contact lenses that help patients achieve their best possible vision. As a fluent Spanish speaker, she is proud to care for patients who prefer to communicate in Spanish.
When she’s not seeing patients, Dr. Leche enjoys trying new foods, traveling, watching TV marathons, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs, Mowgli and Minni.
