Dr. Cecilia Nguyen, O.D.
Dr. Cecilia Nguyen is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate eye care for patients of all ages. Born and raised in the Houston area, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin before receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
During optometry school, Dr. Nguyen was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society in recognition of her academic excellence and served as a class note taker. She further advanced her clinical training through specialty internships in vision therapy in Houston and ocular disease management in Dallas, where she developed extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex eye conditions.
Dr. Nguyen is passionate about helping patients preserve their vision through early detection, advanced technology, and individualized treatment plans. While she enjoys all aspects of primary eye care, her professional interests include the management of Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, and Myopia Control, as well as specialty contact lenses, LASIK and refractive surgery co-management, and the medical treatment of ocular disease.
She has a special interest in Dry Eye Disease and remains committed to staying current with the latest innovations in diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Nguyen believes that dry eye is often an underdiagnosed condition that can significantly impact quality of life. She enjoys educating patients about the underlying causes of their symptoms and developing customized treatment plans that may include advanced therapies to provide lasting relief and improve long-term ocular surface health.
Dr. Nguyen is also passionate about myopia management in children. She understands that increasing levels of nearsightedness can place children at greater risk for serious eye diseases later in life, including retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, and myopic macular degeneration. She enjoys partnering with families to develop personalized myopia control plans using the latest proven treatments to slow progression and protect lifelong visual health.
Known for her approachable and caring demeanor, Dr. Nguyen believes that the best outcomes come from building strong relationships with her patients. She takes the time to listen, educate, and ensure that every patient understands their eye health and treatment options. Her goal is to provide exceptional, personalized care using the latest advancements in optometry while helping patients achieve their best possible vision and maintain healthy eyes for years to come.
Outside of the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three boys. Whether she's traveling with her family, exploring new destinations, or trying Houston's newest restaurants, she enjoys making the most of every opportunity to be together.
