Dr. April Oliver earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Texas and graduated with honours in 2008. She went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2012, where she was also certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.

During her training, Dr. Oliver completed clinical rotations at several prestigious institutions, including Berkeley Eye Center, Texas Eye Institute, Good Neighbor Clinic, Golden Eye Clinic, and Lehmann Eye Center in Nacogdoches. She received Letters of Excellence in Family Practice and was awarded the Nick Stoyan Memorial Grant for her work in orthokeratology.

Dr. Oliver joined Today’s Vision Tomball in 2014 and became the practice owner the following year, succeeding founder Dr. Donald Glenz. In 2019, she was elected to the Today’s Vision board of directors and became Chairman of the Board in 2021.

Passionate about advancing private practice optometry, Dr. Oliver mentors colleagues, lectures to local groups on eye health and specialty lenses, and advocates for expanding the scope of optometric care. Her clinical interests include dry eye treatment, co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery, and specialty contact lens fittings—including multifocal, prosthetic, keratoconus, and post-surgical lenses. She also enjoys seeing pediatric patients and strives to make each visit relaxed and easy to understand for children and parents alike.

Outside the office, Dr. Oliver enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and recipes, reading, and spending time with friends, family, and fellow professionals.
