Thorough, Child-Friendly Care for Growing Eyes

Lifelong eye health begins early. That’s why we’ve built a welcoming environment where kids feel safe, calm, and engaged from the start.

Whether it’s your child’s first eye exam or part of ongoing care, our eye doctors deliver expert attention with a gentle, parent-approved approach.

When to Schedule Your Child’s First Eye Exam

We recommend scheduling a child’s first comprehensive eye exam between ages 3 and 4, even if no symptoms are present. Early exams help us catch vision problems before they affect development, learning, or confidence.

After that, annual visits are typically best, especially once your child starts school. Watch for signs like squinting, frequent eye rubbing, head tilting, or avoiding visual tasks. These may signal issues that are easy to correct when caught early.

What We Check During a Pediatric Eye Exam

We tailor every visit to your child’s age and comfort level, using smaller, child-friendly tools and explaining what we’re doing every step of the way.

A pediatric exam may include:

  • Visual acuity testing
  • Eye tracking and teaming assessment
  • Depth perception testing
  • Screening for myopia, amblyopia (lazy eye), and strabismus (eye turn)
  • Internal and external eye health evaluation
  • Family history review and risk assessment

We explain all results in clear, parent-friendly language so you leave informed, not overwhelmed.

Our Kid-Friendly Approach to Vision Care

We’ve designed the experience to keep your kids at ease. Our team moves at your child’s pace, whether they’re curious and chatty or shy and reserved.

We also provide eye care in Spanish and Farsi, so families feel understood and supported at every stage.

Myopia Control: Slowing Vision Changes Over Time

If your child has nearsightedness, glasses can help them see, but they don’t stop the condition from getting worse. That’s where our myopia management program comes in. We offer:

Ortho-K lenses: Worn overnight to reshape the cornea and provide clear daytime vision.

MiSight® daily contacts: FDA-approved soft lenses that slow myopia progression in ages 8 to 12.

Low-dose atropine drops: A once-nightly, non-invasive treatment to slow eye elongation.

We personalize every plan based on your child’s prescription, age, and comfort level.

Why Early Eye Care Matters

Children rarely know when their vision is off, and by the time symptoms show up, learning, sports, or social confidence may already be affected. Routine exams help us:

  • Detect and treat vision issues early
  • Reduce strain and frequent prescription changes
  • Lower the risk of eye disease later in life
  • Reinforce healthy habits for long-term eye wellness

Our goal is simple: help your child see clearly, grow confidently, and feel supported from day one.
